In a couple of months the DRL Art Education and Scholarship Program is having a Silent Art Auction fund-
raiser. The DRL is in it's 10th year and has provided 100's of Art teacher Grants and to-date 22 individual
scholarship to student artists to attend a college or university of their choice.

Art On the Lawn

For all you viewers , winters over and now is the time to plan some trips this summer ! One place you must consider  is to visit The Art On the Lawn Saturday, June 25, 2016, in North Logan, Utah.

This day of fun and being close to artists is outstanding. Wonderful artists , painting and you can ask

them questions about what your seeing by the artist. NOT a gallery setting but allowing you visitors

an up close look and feeling not experienced in other  art settings.

Lucy, who puts this amazing outing on each year is a very well respected artist and help's support

artists and art education very strongly. For those of you who have never visited Logan Utah will

experience a wonderful artist community. With every thing you desire from great Hotels, restrauants

Daniel's Art Program UP-date

I've been sending out 100's of requests for donation for Daniel's art program. I've received some very
nice donations over the years from people like you. With the success of Daniel's art program it has grown
to become very successful.  The past few years donations have been very tight because of the economy
To bring you UP-date the DRL Art program has given 100's of Art teacher grants for special art projects to help educate about art but in many ways help in math, critical thinking, and so much more than just drawing pictures.

The DRL art committee meets once a month during the
school year. Art teachers can submit a grant request for a project that they are considering. And if the
project needs more funding than the school can provide, then the teachers make a detailed request to the
DRL art committee . Prior to submission the grant request must be approved by the school President and the over-all art coordinator for the school system. When the DRL art committee receives it they have many
requirements that it must meet. Hoe many students will receive benefit form the grant. The detailed merit
of the grant must receive specific requirements for art education. If any one would like to learn about the

One road block received from potential donors is that the DRL Art Program is only approved for the Cache Education School system. And most note that their donations must go to their own community's And that
that on the service makes sense. I would feel much better if they actually make a donation to their own
community . Also been receiving many requests to my Email requesting consideration for funding from other
community's and individual's and many are very worth wile requests.

So a new approach is being implemented. A separate fundraiser is being  implamanted donation donations
so funding can be forwarded both to the DRL Art Program and when a separate request made and the the request is worthy then a grant can be made . And it is all legal and benefiting other art education. Only those
requests requests receive will be considered> Along with Daniel's DRL Art Program.

Donations Up-date

Hello Again..  This post is to bring you up to date on a new fund raiser for Art Education in Daniel's honor and memory. Those of you that have been following Daniel's Art program with-in the Cache Education Foundation  www.cefut.org ( Art Program ) know what amazing work it's doing for Art Education  and
Scholarships for Art students.

Have been attempting fund raising or many years now. And it's been very successful. However the last few
years with our present condition in our economy donation have been tight.

We've had many requests received from both art students and educators to help from outside the Cache
Education Foundation in Logan UT. and  there charter is for the Cache County  District School System
so help cannot be provided for these requests through the Daniel Robert Lynch (DRL) Art Education and
Scholarship Program. And many of these outside requests have been very genuine and very discouraging
not to be able to help.

We have set up another fund raiser to allow funding both the DRL Art program and other outside requests
that we receive. One very big obstacle  has been that most requests are turned down  because communities
wish to made donations to help others with-in their communities And that makes sense. So our new fund
raising project will be open to ALL  requests for consideration, both the DRL Art program and others.

Daniel's Bronze

Hi  EVERY ONE....

In my last post  I told you I would bring you up to date about the bronze fund raiser for The Cache Education Foundation  DRL Art Education and Scholarship program.  Bottom line is that the bronze was put on the shelf. After all the effort it was determined that with the cost of the bronze " Artists In Thought" is just too great to make sense as a fund raiser. The rules for a not for profit donation if you offering any thing of value.
the cost for the bronze to be made in the foundry, shipping and any small profit that would be available would not allow only a small percentage of the cost of the bronze to provide any insensitive for a donation.

The cost for a foundry to make the bronze to the museum quality that is is just wont work.I hoped that the
" Artist in Thought " would be popular item for Art Galleries ETC. that a reliable donation funds would be a
consistency source of income for the DRL Art Education and Scholarship Program

Daniels Bronze

DANIEL"S  BRONZE


             Daniel's Bronze is complete. For those who have been following this blog know the details of his Bronze. The end detail of his Bronze is to be a life sized sculptor , available for
inside or outside an Art Museum or Gallery.

This table model of the Bronze is so the request for a sculptor rendering can be forwarded to
the museums requesting the rendering. This Bronze is a TOP QUALITY hand crafted , not a
cheap overseas production fabrication.

A fund raiser program is being considered for a product of the miniature Bronze being available
for purchase. The profit from these Bronze will be used for the Life sized  and for Daniel's DRL
Art Education and Scholarship Program. This project is just in the planning stages and will be
a while until available . Hopefully it wont be as long as this miniature  Bronze has taken.

When the Bronze fund raiser is ready, it will be noted here and details will posted.

The quality of this miniature bronze is above average and would be a quality item for any 
Company to have with-in their facility .

I'll keep this post brief and go into much more depth when the bronze fund raiser is finished.

Daniel's Bronze

Almost there, Daniel's bronze well be ready in 2-3 weeks. At the bronze factory now. Continuing from last
post. Daniel's life sized bronze well cost between $80-100,000 dollars. In an attempt to find a fund raiser
for Daniel's bronze has been un-successful. So another approach is being take, The bronze artist suggested
that a table top bronze be manufactured so potential Art  Gallery's who have shown interest in  Daniel's
bronze will be able to see it through pictures. Interest has been received from potential museum's from a
word description of the bronze and all have requested a rendering of the bronze before a final decision can
be made by their Directors. The bronze from the foundry is an 18" table Top sculptor. A 3D 9" sculptor
is being produced and the bronze is going to be a business card holder for Art Gallery's and museums and
for high end Corporations that can appreciate a top quality bronze.

This bronze is of the height's quality produced here in the U.S.A. not a quick produced item from China or
Mexico. This bronze will be of the highest quality that can be produced . And each bronze requested will
be made at the factory. and shipped to the customer. Once again it's a request for you to check back soon and view Daniel's bronze. Yes any profit received will go towards Daniel's life sized bronze and his DRL

Daniel's bronze

This is an update on the bronze statue of Daniel and where it is in the project pipe line!
An Artist Sculptor has been chosen and the bronze is in process.  However, a couple of
road blocks have popped up.  A fund raising company has agreed to put on a fundraiser for
the bronze and the artist has agreed to work with the foundation and the fundraiser.  At this
stage, the preliminary bronze model is being developed.  I just found out that the foundation
doing the the fundraiser let it be known that if the full amount requested to be raised cannot
be raised in total, the money will be kept by the foundation and not released. When the
artist found this out, he was very disappointed and did some research and found that the
average amount requested by others in their fundraiser ran between $5,000-10,000 and many
were unable to reach the requested amount.  The amount requested to be raised for the bronze
was $60,000 and that is taking in account the money that the artist is donating for this life-size
bronze, so we had to regroup and come up with another fundraiser.

The artist had already started on the bronze and it has been decided to do a table-top
bronze 18" and in the meantime locate another foundation to help with the funding.
It has been suggested that we also consider a grant, perhaps from a wealthy person
who is an admirer of art. When the 18" table-top bronze is finished it will be available to
show a potential donor what the bronze will look like.  Also, they would be invited to the
unveiling at the American Art Museum Smithsonian.

So, at this date, the bronze is in the manufacturing cycle, with some more hard work to
have the bronze life-sized finished.

Bronze Statue

For you who follow Daniel's site, I have some very interesting news:

Recently, I received a suggestion, that because of the way Daniel lived his life and his very sincere love of art, that consideration should be given to have a bronze statue made of Daniel and donate it to an art museum. That suggestion really hit close to home with me, particularly because Daniel loved to visit often the deYoung and Legion of Honor Art Museums in San Francisco. When his mother and I would visit, Daniel would take us to those museums. How many young people would take their parents to an art museum on a visit? Daniel was so impressed with all art museums, it was amazing.

Thinking realistically about having a bronze statue made of Daniel, the chance of something like that happening was maybe one in a million. But knowing Daniel's love of art and art museums and then considering that if something isn't at tried, the percentage for success is zero, so I decided to contact a few bronze statue artists to inquire what the cost of creating a bronze statue would be. I've learned that a bronze statue is just identified as “bronze,” so in the future when the word “bronze” is used, it is the bronze statue.

Hearing back from a number of bronze artists was yes it was doable, but the cost would be between $80,000 and $100,000 for a life-sized statue. Well, that put it out of my reach, no way could I afford that. I received word from a very well know bronze artist who had done some research about Daniel and the wonderful job the DRL Art Program is doing for art education and she indicated that she would be willing to create a bronze statue of Daniel for $50,000 if the bronze would be accepted by an art museum.

Therefore, I began sending out inquires to a number of art museums describing the bronze and requesting their interest in having it donated to their museum. I received a couple of answers that were not committal, but they requested to see a rendering of the bronze for further consideration. I haven't yet sent a request to the deYoung and Legion of Honor Museums, as I didn't want to receive a no from them.

The answers I received were what I was hoping for, not a rejection but a “maybe.” I then contacted the Cache Education Foundation which is the parent foundation for the DRL Art Program. The DRL Program director was very impressed and took the my request to the board to see if they would consider a not-for-profit fundraiser for the bronze. It was brought out that any money received as a donation to the Cache Education Foundation had to go directly to the student, it could not be used for trips, conferences, bronze, etc. That was a big let down, but I understood why the Foundation does business that way, because of all the abuse by many other foundations with the

money they receive not benefiting the the core reason of its functioning.

One overlooked item here is a reply was that I received from an art museum that they would consider the bronze if a letter of intent a long with a rendering of the and that we would meet some other requirements. That request was from the American Art Museum at the Smithsonian, the world's largest and most prominent art museum. The task to find a not-for-profit organization that would consider a fundraiser for the bronze is the next big issue. Many like organizations have been contacted and but they all are interested in fundraisers which would be local and bring money in for there foundation. That also makes sense.

At this juncture, I have been in contact with a not-for-profit foundation that understands the project and is considering it. This foundation wants to talk with the bronze artist and hopefully within a few days something can be worked out for a fundraiser. At this moment, a Letter of Intent and a rendering of the bronze is in process and shortly we will know if the Smithsonian American Art Museum will accept the donation of the bronze of Daniel. Please keep checking back and see the progress (hopefully) we are making.

A million to one suggestion is now about 70-80% success! I haven't mentioned the artist of the bronze or the foundation for fundraising at this time, when and if this bronze becomes a reality, I certainly will let you know the artist and the foundation and that the Smithsonian American Art Museum accepts the bronze.

The Baja Artists On-line Magazine has a nice story about Daniel  and a few of Daniel's Art pictures . Baja Artists also has a radio program that plays the music by his musicians Artists that they have introduced to their magazine. It is so impressive to hear both instrumental and voice from many unknown Artists that will
impress you with their talent and many will be superstars in future years.
Visual and musical  Artists are having a very difficult time in this economy and you viewers will be amazed with the beautiful Art in this magazine.

DRL UPDATE

Been a while since I've written. Just a brief update. Those of you who are or have been following this

For those of you who are Artists or love Art there are a couple of activities coming up that I know

you'll enjoy. Not just viewing Art in a Gallery, but being part of the action. It's something that has

amazement. You in the action Not just standing viewing Art but involved !

First is the Summersest Art Fare June 13-15 ( www.Logansummerfest.com ) I strongly suggest that

if you have the opportunity consider attendance.

Second is Art On The Lawn June 29 in North Logan ( artonthelawn.net ) It is an amazing outing, with

a full day in interaction with the Artists, Art auction, food, and many artist doing there painting as you

watch. Something so enlightening and compelling , you'll be amazed .

Three Scholarship were awarded by the Art committee of Daniel Robert Lynch Art Education and

Scholarship Program. These young artist will be worth watching their future progress. The Artists

who won the Scholarships Katrina Tolman, Sarah Patch and Anna Phelps. The total number of

Scholarships awarded by the DRL Art committee is thirteen ( 13 ) The DRL Art committee is so

dedicated and doing such a wonderful job for Art Education ( www.cefut.org ) Art program and

Daniel remembered

I'vr been thinking about Daniel a lot lately. And would like for you visitors to learn and know something
about this remarkable young Artist. I'm not able to understand or accept Daniel's life being taken from
him with the sincere and honest person he was and the world full of people who just want to take from
others, kill, steal and have no concern about their fellow man. Daniel was such a " giving " person and
was the type of person who understood that to reach your goal it took hard wook and dedication. He
missed quite a lot of activities that other people enjoy because he knew that when his goal "dream" was
met he could do those activities then. Reaching his "dream" was the most important thing to him. He
worked harder than 95% of people to reach his "dream" and to have his life taken by someone he
didn't even know and by a "mistake"  and a act of  Violence is unacceptable.

The one positive thing out of this terable tragity is The Daniel Robert Lynch (DRL) Art Education and
Scholarship Program in his honor and memory. This wonderful program is such a belessing in Daniel's
Legacy.For those of you that this is the first knowledge of Daniel's DRL Art Program please take a
moment and visit the Cache Education Foundation http://www.cefut.org ( Art Program ) that Daniel's
 DRL program is with-in . The Cache Education Foundation is such a "giving" organization, not just
in Art but in every subject with-in the school system.

I realize this is a Dad speaking, and all fathers have a great opinion of there sons or daughters.
To let you see and understand the deepness of Daniel's charater  I'm going to let you read a paper
that Daniel did for a High School project. Those of you who have read "Daniel's Dream " know the
story. Daniel's class was iven an assignment to write about some thing they owned that would tell
the most about them !  Below is Daniel's paper he turned in.

My Class Assignment

When I heard of this assignment I looked all around my house at everything I own for something I own that says the most about me, I could find things that I liked, such as posters, souvenirs from places I've been, or
my car. I could explain why I liked these things. I liked my car because it's fast and fun to drive. I like this particular action figure because I like the Simpsons.  But the more I look , the more I realized that in a
hundred years I don't want to br remembered by the material possessions I owned. I think that if yiu can
be summed up by a physical item,  then it doesn't say anything good about you. It says you've dedicated your life to something frivolous.

I feel you should be remembered for what you did. You should be remembered for how you change the
world, such as George Washington, Mahatma Gandhi, and Joseph Stalin. these people were remembered for what they created, the people they helped or the brutal way they oppressed a nation. You can't describe who these people were with some meaningless item. They probably owned something that said something
about them, but what they are know for is what they did. So in one hundred years I want to be remembered
the same way, not by my house or car. but by my actions. That being said the truth is I could not think of one single thing to write about that could fill up more than a paragraph,  so I came up with this ridiculous
idea.

Daniel R. Lynch

This "classic" writing assignment tells a lot about Daniel. One thing Daniel had was the ability to think
"out side the box" Even when Daniel was in geammer school he many times would present a diferent
view that I had never even thought about and his view made perfect sense.

So The DRL Art Education and Scholarship Program fits so well for Daniel's Legacy.
" So in one hundred years I want to be remembered for what I did !  Daniel didn't have the chance to
to  judged on "What he did "  but his Legacy will  be remembered for the way he live during his short
 life and what his DRL Art Education and Scholarship Program is doing for Art Education, his Love and Dream.

Reality Question

I've been receiving many replys to Daniel's Art quote. About  1/3 to 1/4 feel that it doesn't relate to
reality. I've been doing research about tje meaning of reality. And I must confess, there all very
different thoughts about what is reality. What is your opinion ?  Basically "What is ,IS" is that reality?

I never gave it much thought, but now I'm very interested in other's opinon's My thinking is that reality
in it's basic form is the Way thing are , Both positive and negitive. I believe Daniel's saw it as life in it's
basics. I remember when he had a down day, Just watching the Simpsons his day brightened. On a
basic level just viewing a cartoon can make a difference at that moment ( reality ) seem changed to
the better. That's about as basic as you can get. But ART, creative minds can change reality both
for the Good or bad.

Do I have the right opinion or not. Daniel's Quote " My inspiration is ART...... because without art
we would just be stuck with reality " fit's with-in my opinion. I've received a few   opinions that
put down Daniel's quote in a very negative way. And I can't understand why people just take there
personal view and live with it.  Daniel was NOT an authority on reality, nor was his quote the
approved definition for "Realiy".

For those who read this I'd be very interested in your view of what reality is. I'm some what impressed
that so many people are feeling that Dans opinion is the authority on the subject. The world is made up
of various opinions on ALL subjects. Received comment's that those who appreciate Daniel's quote,
just don't understnd basics. And if the rating on Daniel's quote on http://www.Quoteland.com means any thing then that say's something  Author (Daniel Robert Lynch ) has had 109 votes in this short period and with a rating system  between 0-----10   His quote has a 9.22 rating out of 10 so many believe it's a Superior quotation. The average runs between 5-7 for Good quotations.

If some one just belives that ART is just pictures then I can see the responses I've received ,but many
have been by very well educated smart people, so I'm scratching my head. I know it doesn't make any
difference ,but as Daniel's Father, it does propose a question.  As I've allways just considered it just a
'quote'. Then it has ben discovered and now it's a large question to his Father. I'm wondering why it
has hit such a nerve.  But I think Daniel would be smiling knowing that his quote has so many opinions.

DRL FUNDRAISER

Welcome to this post. Daniel's DRL Art Education and Scholarship Program is in it's sixth year and has
been very successful in helping Art Education by providing teacher grants for special projects, equipment
and supplies which are not covered by the school budgets. Those who follow this blog realize the serious concern for Art Education today and in a few years, most minor subjects, i.e. music, performing arts,
sports and other subjects and activities that don't  meet the CORE SUBJECTS such as math, reading, science, etc. will not have funds in the school budgets to support these EXTRA activities. Some of you feel that this makes a  lot of sense because many of these subjects are not needed in today's society for a student to get a good education. On the surface that may seem reasonable, like I've noted before, children drawing
pictures doesn't fit within a good education requirement. However, nothing could be farther from the truth.

I know that many of you have read "Danial's Dream" where I've gone into depth about this subject. But those who are visiting this site for the first time need to know that many of these so called unnecessary  minor subjects are extremely important for a well rounded and balanced education.

Al Agnew Art

This is an additional post about an artist that has supported Daniel's DRL Art Education and Scholarship
Program. Factually, Mr. Al Agnew was the initial inspiration to Daniel for becoming an artist. When
Daniel was in grammar school one of his subjests was to draw and Dan would draw at home.  It was nothing special, like every kid draws, but he just liked to draw. He had a chance to go to an art gallery that was featuring a young artist, Al Agnew.  That experience changed Daniel's life.  Daniel fell in love with one of Al Agnew's pictures of a fox in the woods.  Daniel talked his mom and dad into buying the beautiful drawing.  Mr. Agnew took the time to talk with Daniel, not just a few seconds but a very meaningful one, and on the back of the picture, an artist's proof) Al wrote a message to Daniel that followed him through the rest of his life.  He said that anythig in life worth doing is worth doing the best you can and that Daniel should practice his art just like practicing basketball.  To be the best will take extremely dedicated effort.

The one great quality that Daniel possesed was his dedication to study hard and be the best he could be. He played baseball and he wasn't the best player but he was one that tried the hardest worker on his team and his coach could see the extra effort Daniel put out and in the final championship all Daniel's hard work paid off.  For those of you who have read "Daniel's Dream" know the story, so I won't go into it here. Daniel's life changed after meeting Al Agnew.

Small unplanned things can make a huge difference in a young person's life. As a young grammar school
student through his whole life Daniel was one who understood that to be a success it took effort. And
during his time at the University, Daniel worked harder at his studies and work than anyone could
imagine.  He was going to be a Computer Animator.  He chose that field because he loved the Simpsons cartoon series on television.  No matter what kind of day he was having, after watching the Simpsons, he was very happy and he wanted to be in a field where he would enjoy it and he loved art and was very good at computers, so he decided that animation would fit his vocation the best.  As Daniel's father, I know he would have been a super star in his chosen feild. Al Agnew was the inspiration for Daniel's lifes quality.

The one major hurt in my life is the type of person Daniel was and a gang member shot and killed Daniel because he thought Daniel was someone else. If Daniel would have lived, he would have been a leader for all who followed him and I know that that meeting with Al Agnew had a huge impact on Daniel's quality of life.

Impressive Artists

This post is to alert you readers about some very sincere artists. Their art speaks for itself, but what these artist have shown is their personal side.

The days he doesn't are when he is doing large complicated projects like painting murals. Don has helped support DansInspiration and Daniel's Dream. Sue was one of the original people who donated to help Daniel's art program become a reality. Art on the LAWN Activity

One of the purposes of this blog was to inform you the reader about other art programs and artists. I've
been just noting information about the DansInspiration .com subject, but will now start to note other art subjects.

Daniel's Art Quote acceptance

The last post was about Daniel's Art quote, and I know that a repeat on a subject is not good!
But I've been getting a lot of feedback about Daniel's quotation and it is really impressing me.
As I noted earlier I always thought the quote to be just a quote. But after it has been out there
over 5 years it's becomming very popular, And it's some thing I just can't set by and be silent !

One thing that people are saying is that to a non -artist (like me) it would sound "glib or off
the cuff" but to an artisst , they understand that true art is not just pictures, but design of
buikdings, landscaping, the abillty that GOD gave man to help " reality " be more acceptable,
pleasing. Art is not just art pictures, but just think what a wall with real wonderful pictures
does for the plain walls in a building or a house. So after so many years of seeing just a "quote"
I know see Daniel's wisdom on the subject. Daniel was a very deep thinker and as a child
would teach me his Father to see things in a very different way than I had ever looked before.

The artist noted that Daniel's quotation is being noted on most quote sites. And the site
http://www.Quoteland.com which has it's viewers rate the quotes. Has had over 70 "HITS"
and is in the high 8's % rating ( ratings rated between 0---10 %) and with Daniel's quote
with such a HIGH rating confirms his feelings! And I agree.

If you know someone in the Art field, art gallery, Office or den, or even on a Web-site request
that they display Daniel's Quotation where their Customers can view it. That would please
Daniel's Father so much.
